Nostalgic Treasure, NeoTokyo magazine

While looking for things, I found something that I had nearly forgot about but that I'm sure is what was my first contact with random and fan content, NeoTokyo 54 and 72.

NeoTokyo was a Brazilian anime and manga magazine I used to love that ran from 2006 to 2017, I have a bunch of them well kept at my mom's house, but finding two hidden ones at my dad's brought me a lot of memories. It had amazing and variable content and they really know how to bring their public together.

I say it was one of my first contact with fandom because they had a lot of fan content that probably inspired me, they didn't had only reviews but they also had a place for fan art and cosplay, original made short mangas and written novels, fan comments and also little random snipits like, how to draw, japonese lessons and lyrics translation. They also had double posters that I used to collect (even if I didn't know where it was from) that my mom really disliked because of how it looked in my wall.

Apparently, it was discontinued in 2017, not surprising since the anime frenzy of the 2000's had already passed by that point, I still have much to thank them for. Here some random pics so people can check them out, it's all in Portuguese though.

i used to collect those, as well as anime dô (i think that was the name of the magazine? i was about 11 years old, i can't remember) and a bunch of other anime-related magazines. i don't know what became of them, tho.

anyway, i'm a random brazilian person who is looking for active journals to add. i write in portuguese and my content is mostly depressing and terribly personal (and access only with locked comments). i'm giving you access and subscribing to your journal. if you don't feel comfortable with that, don't hesitate to tell me!

i forgot to tell you about me, sorry.

i'm a 25yo woman, mostly ace lesbian and i like to write. i don't really have a life outside of writing and therapy, which will be clear in my journal. we have a few similar interests: i like steven universe, my little pony, hetalia, gravity falls and creepypastas. also art and writing. since my journal is mostly personal, maybe my writing journal will be more your style: travessando. there's not much in there, though. i'm thinking about making a fannish journal, but nowadays my head is more focused on my ocs.

rsrs Tambem escrevo em inglês mesmo quando a pessoa entende português, cultura de quem cresceu no fandom americano (Pelo menos é minha razão...). Eu sempre estou feliz em achar mais pessoas aqui, ainda conheço poucas e estou tentando entender o site! (Falando nisso, acho que screening não era o que achava que era)

Eu lembro vendo AnimeDô em bancas mas nunca comprei nenhuma!
