Happy New year! (Late!!!!!)
Thursday, 8 January 2026 13:56I admit having ended and started the year a little lazy. I kept pushing the new year blogging to later and didn't even realize it's already day 8th. oops. But the end of the year was messy overall. I hope everyone's start of the year is going well, everything in the world is a mess right now. Here is some small Christmas + New Year Log, plus some Star Wars thoughts.

I really fumbled the end of my uni classes, huge contrast to the beginning of them after winter break (middle of the year here in Brazil) where I got some really high scores. I still passed, but scrapping by! Not sure why, maybe I got too confident. What matters is that I got thought, I'll see to take some online Java classes in hopes to properly catch up, just in case.
It was a bit harder to follow everyone's plans, it kept changing at what parent and when, and it was a bit of a run to make sure to get everyone a gift. Same thing as always, for the kids it's always really fun, I got legos for all of them. I thought that maybe my older niece won't like it as much, but I overheard her say that my gift was in second place, so I'm glad she didn't hate it lol. It was a good Christmas. At night, it was at my mom's and the next day it was a barbecue at my dad's. I used the same outfit in both, but regretted it since everyone was a lot more casual at my dad's, and it was really hot.
New year was also very simple, an aunt and uncle that live afar came to visit, and we dined at my dad. No one wanted to stay awake for midnight, it was rainy that day and everyone was tired, lol, but I got some great firework views from my apartment, a neighbor had some of those silent ones.

Outside of real life stuff. I'm in a Star Wars mood again. Got to watch "The Tales Of" series, not sure if I have much to say, but they worked great as additions to the post-TCW saga, I know many are a little tired of the focus on it, but I like most works based on TCW and I don't mind as long as it's good, the only awkward part of them are the occasional voice work. Barriss' arc was my favorite, I didn't care much for her before, but I loved her here with the fifth sister.
I also watched the Obi-Wan show for curiosity, the beginning is, oof, a mess. It finds its footing in episode 3, but it doesn't really get better from there. Which is sad because, I liked it. It wasn't a necessary addition, but it was a solid idea for one, I liked how they tried to give some room for Owen and Baru, and liked the idea for the antagonist as a surviving youngling looking for revenge (I hope we see her again), I liked the in-between Prequels to OT Obi-Wan's character arc, and I liked Leia. (Also, unsurprisingly, loved NED, idc he didn't do much, 5th class droids deserve to show as characters more!) But it was so badly presented, it's hard to recommend.
I think I'll finally play KOTOR, I have been having a hard time really sitting down and playing games, and I'll look for the FFG rules again, maybe the prices are better! I want to play as my silly droid OCs.

Oh, yeah, some extra. I've been reading Wings of Fire. Really enjoying them! I kind of wished they were a thing when I was a kid, I was huge on dragons at the time, and there's a neat story here. After them, I'll get back to the aftermath books, I'm going for The Dark Secret next, but having a surprisedly hard time finding copies for this one?? I don't want to get it in English, it's a series I would like to give away to a library later on.
Happy New Year everyone, I hope this is a year of change, for the good. I want to be optmistic.
