Solo Play logs - Doronai update

Last I spoke of it Kynai had been captured by a pirate goon, and apparently was at level 4, I did say I thought that maybe a LV 5 would've been better, so I actually started at LV 5. (Don't worry, random Leveling stops a bit after this, was still in the figuring it out phase.)
She awakens in a meager cell with stone walls, it didn't take me much exploring before a random event, Kynai hears a commotion and a shout, and as she gets to the cell bars to investigate the pirate guard's body falls down. She looks up to an Ihidauri. They see Kynai as well, but doesn't bother with her as they walk away. It takes a bit of shouting, they don't seem to care that she knows where the artifact is (a lie), but mentioning the crystals she took gets their attention. They agree to get her out of there, but only if she takes them to these crystals. Meet Vhizep! While getting her things back, Kynai gets a little cloak, and plans how she will ditch the Ihidauri.
Well, as we exit the cells, we have the earlier Vortixx group show up, turns out Vhizep is part of it with Koven (The guy Vortixx) and Bekta (a Gawalai), Ursare missing. After a brief introduction, it turns out they were escaping from a group of pirates. This was actually a good solo group play test, since people love to recommend making a group of characters when playing solo. I... didn't enjoy it. I'm a slow person, and it takes too much play time to play for all the enemies and other character. Either way, we get all of them except one escapee, who sounds an alarm.
I had another pause between this play and the rest, and when I returned I did a few things. I made a higher tier Hooked Dagger, got Kynai to LV 6, and traded one of my archetypes for a new one from an update, and remade/recalculated my encounter table using some online d20 CR calculator + Solo Adventurer Toolbox CR table. And it worked FANTASTICALLY!
In game, they thought wiser to escape. Koven has to break down one of the doors to a locked room. First I rolled that it was a "teletransport" room (Fantasy table after all), but could not figure out a lore friendly interpretation, so the next roll was an encounter room. I ditched the group play back to solo now using the encounter table in Solo Adventurer toolbox, with the rest being only narrative. A Vanaki pirate (using some other Vanaki NPC sheet). How I said, it went great, no alteration needed. Since I'm playing a 'A' species, I used the table for LV 3, the combat went smoothly and fun. End of combat, random event again. 'Current context' with 'Portal' & 'Attention'. This time, the idea of a portal appearing in the middle of the room was less strange. Koven's group was happy to see it, fleeing into it as it appeared, Kynai would've gotten away if it wasn't Vhizep noticing she attempting to sneak away, and end scene!
Wasn't sure where to go for this outside of a few ideas. Clearly the portal was for Koven's group, which feeds to some other ideas of mine about them, and they want the crystals. Supposedly we'll go somewhere safe. I tried to formulate an idea based on the random page from a random book method, and got the page on The Hobbit where Bilbo first meets Gandalf, specifically at the end of their talk where Gandalf is recruiting him, and he's refusing. Which is something!
Here are some campaign doodles, the in between weapon for Kynai was two paired Hooks, now I'm back to the hooked dagger, but swapped the Animal Handling for Paired and made it two, and higher tier.
