Was looking at some old (2021...) art, and, one: I feel like I improved in the sense that I don't struggle to draw things, but I also feel like there was a solid aspect of my old art when it comes to the lines.
But more importantly, I found some cringy OCs I accidentally left behind and I feel bad about it and now I really want to bring them back. I'll rant about them now, they aren't particularly inspired tbh.

The smaller robot, 8A, is probably the more recognizable. I use her as an icon in my art accs and recently tried using her likeness for a solo-play of a Space Hunters mini-tabletop, and she is also the oldest, I think I actually already talked about her here when I was trying to do RPs in RP.com, or something because I actually came up with her to use there as a character not tied to any canon.
(as a note about that, I stopped because things in real life are getting in the way, and accidentally forgot to log on for more than a month so my acc was deleted. I was at the beginning of an roleplay with someone there, in a Star Wars setting with her. I just going to leave a sorry for that person because they are very incentivizing about my RP and their character was cool...)
I think she was inspired by an older Mega Man Classics OC, mostly on the being designed for semi-mass-produced engineer/hand-man robot, at the RP she was supposed to be pretending to not be a robot but I dropped that detail later on when I decided to actually try to make her a character. what stayed is that she was an older/out-of-production robot that was rebuilt by a bartender, Ótho, for his second-hand bar, The Gear Strain, in a small old colony on a dwarf planet named Therek. (actually, while writing this I found the DOC that had a lot of her early version world-building, but I'll not go in debt about her now, her name was M14-UH/MAUH (Maintenance and universal helper android) lol). like various other robots, she wanted to go her own way, but still keeps close contact with Ótho. She then started to work for a delivery company, you know, to give an excuse for her to explore various planets and galaxies.
I think when I actually tried to make her something outside of the (insanely short-lived) RPs, I tried to expand with more OCs (world building 101?). There was her boss, Bill, who was a shady businesswoman, and another worker that was more of the janitor of the company base. I tried making a robot-bird villain that was a collector, and then there is the skinny robot in the drawings.
I have no idea what I named him then, but he did show up in the Space Hunters game and there I named him 1-33c(c silent), at first he wasn't going to be a robot, just a mercenary that frequented Ótho's bar, but somewhere around my brainstorming he turned into a robot who used to be a factory worker type, when the factory closed many models inside were deactivated and forgotten, he wasn't and started a life in mercenary work, thought the years he updated and rebuild himself to be better fit for the job. In this version 8A and 1-33c were going to meet through a delivery gone wrong, where she was going to deliver something for a group that was in 1-33c's hit list.
Idk, I think from there they would be whacky acquaintances, where he would use her as a getaway driver by random if they happened to be in the same place... it's cheesy, but I think one of the reasons I dropped them is because... one: that I'm not that great at actually doing things with characters and stories. and two: that I think around the time I found out about Monkey Wrench (very cool animation) and wondered that if I showed them people would think it was inspired/ripped off from that. also three: motivation sunk down the drain...
I'm already doing it with an OC but, I wonder if maybe taking them to use in a solo roleplay for Star Without Names would be fun. anyway... thanks for reading me ramble on about bad OCs. An update a day after: I got around to reading the Doc and, I actually have a lot figured out, a short history of Therek and some brainstorming of its climate. A history of the M-UH model and the company that made it. I found a version of 1-33c where he was named 24-40 and was a previous military robot. I even had some brainstorming on how robots got sapience, nothing really inspiring tbh, I like the idea of robots staying working where they are built or leaving for different things being both accepted and normal instead.
