Happy new Year a day earlier

A "brief" happy new year post since I won't be around for the real thing. Just blabbering on about what's been going on in my real life, I guess? Then more interesting things like what I've been doing.
Christmas's was nice, I reluctantly helped my art teacher in a free project for the church of our city. There was an event for it and another book with the city's history. Just a small children's book about San't Ana. I'm not really religious anymore, and I favor spiritism slight since it's what I grew up with, so I don't really care much, and I'm just glad it's done. Keeping up with it + university was hard, and I'm very grateful for holidays. Learned from it at least.
My favorite part of Christmas is getting my nieces and nephew gifts, kids are a lot more transparent in what they want and like, gave the two older ones X-shots and the younger a Polly play set. I got a Ninjago set for my little cousin, but this year he didn't commemorate with us, so I'll have to give it to him later. For adults, it's a lot harder, but food seen to be a solid choice, either a chocolate basket or cheese's with some other things works most of the time. When you're an adult, you're reluctant to be indulgent with food if it's pricey and receiving it gives you an excuse, I guess.

Outside of that, what've been doing is pretty much watch videos, read, and play games, both video and analogs. I got Vintage Story and love it a lot more than I thought I would have, I'm too scared to explore in the dark and winter have shortened the days, but I already got a somewhat proper home and got to the Bronze Age just at the start of Autumn, so I'm not struggling for now. Trying to figure out leather and get some hunts. This game is making me crave mushroom and red meat meal unironically, and I got to get to it at some point.
An online friend got me Blasphemous by surprise and also been having fun. Just stuck at the candle ghost ladies, so still very early. I love the art of the game, it has a really nice feeling to it.
Decide to finally try Notequest that've had for a while and going 100% analog with it. I got it when I got That Dungeon Game With Dragons & Stuff, I hyped TDGWD&S so much and got Noteguest just to take advantage of the delivered and ended up enjoying Notequest more, still love the art of TDGWD&S as a booklet tho. I should check out CasinhaVerde more, my notequest came with an antifa sticker in the back. I do want to get my other solo games going as well, get my Doronai Game on track and/or finally start the campaign idea I've had since forever of human in very alien alternative universes gates, even if I go ruleless for the start. I also would like to Re-start my Star Wars game since I have a better, more flexible idea for it.
Talking about soloing, I also want to try Fighting Fantasy books more, I'm finally playing Sorcery! on Steam, but also got Rebel Planet to try out. I spend more of the start of the book doodling my idea for the aliens instead of playing though and was almost afraid that the game was going to break my pre-actually playing headcanons lol. My designs are mostly dinosaurs inspired, obviously, so nothing special.

I started reading Foundation by Isaac, not what I normally enjoy, but I'm liking it, nothing too deep to say about it as yet. I also got Hyperion also and have to get to a Brazilian sci-fi As Vidas E As Mortes De Severino Olho De Dendê that I read the banger of a begging but didn't get to the rest yet, it looks like it'll have a Guardians of the Galaxy feel to it, in a good way, but I mostly appreciate seeing what feels like a genuinely Brazilian culture into the world.
And finally! I've been days telling myself how much I would like to rewatch The Dark Crystal, and... I finally did it today, and I love it just as much as the last time. I really need to look more into the world of it, I know it has a few comics, I love Aughra in particular and her and her son's comic is such a hit in my heart for her. I did try reading the 2017 sequel comic, but there's something about it that just doesn't feel like it... didn't enjoy the characters much. Maybe I should just look at more late 70s and 80s Dark Fantasy, this and Labyrinth has just the right vibes to it, that's actually what I want my made up campaign to feel like in terms of aliens.
Anyway, happy new year, I just hope that I'll get through it by doing a bunch of stuff that I enjoy. Trying to cut social media and Youtube videos that are shorter than 15 minutes or so.
