Vintage Building
Have been playing quite a bit of Vintage Story, that and the recent No Man's Sky update has been the only Video Games I've been in the mood for. The new Silksong came out, but I admit I haven't finished Hollow Knight, so I didn't join the hype. I'm never good at catching up to trends!
Either way, I just wanted to share and babble on about some Vintage Story buildings, they aren't anything insane, and aren't many, but still! I didn't sleep really well last night, so excuse me about anything.

This one is from my first save that I still keep around. I was just starting winter and trying to figure out leather. You can see some Minecraft influence in the building here, I also mostly did small cabin houses in Minecraft (mostly wood, but it's not as easy here).

Before that I was taking refuge in a dirt cabin on a very short opening to the mountain not too far. I had gotten pumpkin seeds but messed that one up, and apparently they are pretty rare. I was just trying to start making a Smithery, so I didn't just do it front yard, but an update kind of broke some textures. You can see on the wall horns, but my character's skin as well.
I had done another standard save after this, but never got too far. I was very frustrated with my progress there so I ended up deleting it and went without playing.
I picked it up again during the winter break. I wanted an easier experience thought, was already dealing with a lot, so I tweaked a few gameplay bits in a new save. Mostly keep inventory, no temporal storms, and peaceful. I wanted to focus on the survival aspect, building, and exploring (I got a mod for dungeons and another for ruins.) part of the game. Haven't really regretted it!

Got a little bolder with the construction, still some Minecraft influence with the wood block as support beans (which is weird because I wasn't much of using support bean in minecraft tbh), but the place is bigger, it used to be only two floors, but I added a new room that for now is a bedroom, but I want to make it into a "hallway" to a possible same sized house on the other side.
Then there is the smithery, I've been meaning to make one of those mold racks that I didn't know existed until recently. Here is also when I started to play with the voxel chiseling. I painstakingly carved the entrance by making sure the stones of both blocks aligned. I tried to do it again in the building on the side where I make my leather, but reverse colored, and kind of hated it. Very proud of the chimney, there's an actual opening between the blocks that lead up, which is useless since you can't see it and neither does it serve any purpose.

Chiseling can be very addictive, and I experimented a bit by making that tiny monument and nonsensical torch holder. The well came out alright, thought! I want to maybe give a makeover to the house, maybe either prettify the support wood beans or get rid of them. Unfortunately, the pics are in winter. I didn't bother taking a picture before, and the second winter came by so fast! And just as I get my fourth leather bag so I can travel and explore farther.
Lastly, I've been trying some creative. The normal creative is auto flat world, but apparently you can get a "normal" creative by making a standard and before finalizing changing to creative. I've been even more into Bionicle again after 810nicle day, and getting back again to my Doronai Nui game. I want to maybe make Bionicle inspired buildings like maybe Ga-Koro or Po-koro, but as a test I'm instead making Kynai's (OC) hut.

Bamboo may not have been the best of choices, and I want to maybe hide the ugly openings with something while keeping the in universe round structures aesthetic. I'm pretty proud of the chest/ceramic pot. I tried drawing the 'creation' symbol from MNOG2, but it just looks like a spiral. Here I'm already exploring QP chisel mod that also add some extra glowing blocks. Already planning a design for her work bench and goofy bed. I also want to draw some of her hanging weapons she makes.
One thing that I wanted, but it seems impossible, is a way to have a cloth I could add and walk past. Maybe something I could also make the door beads I imagine her room having. QP has some extra commands to turning chiseled blocks into "doors", would be a pretty awesome option to also make items into beds or items visible but non-solid.
The game is always adding something, so who knows what else will pop up. Maybe it's already something you can do. Maybe use the 'door' option to make the hanging cloth, then left click to 'push it aside'. An idea! I'm going to bed now.
